Is putting a tokay byhimself in a 29 gallon to much space.I want to make him happy as possible.

also is a regular party bulb on a heat lamp alrite to keep temperatures steady.

Their is no such thing as to much space. But if you dont have enough places to hide, thats a problem. You can use a heat lamp that shinnes over a branch. 100W should do it.

If by "part bulb" you mean the blue bulbs from Wal-Mart I would advise against using them. I have had more than one of those burst throwing little shards of glass into the enclosure.

I like the ceramic heating elements. Yes they are expensive but I have a couple that are over 7 years old. Also they do not interfere with the day/night cycle.

I have never had a bulb explode unless it was accedentaly sprayed with water. And I get mine from pet stores.

The "party bulbs" are not meant to be on 24/7 and I am not the only person to have these bulbs pop.

Again I know the outright cost of the ceramic bulbs is high but they last for YEARS and do not interfere with the day/night cycle.;)
