2nd bichir ill, infected dorsal finlets?

Hello together,

2 months ago a Endli died showing an infected dorsal finlet (image attached). I treated him with Baytril (antibiotic Enrofloxacin) but at a very late time and so the Endli died. Now, again one of my polys (ansorgii) stopped eating and is showing the same...
Pls help, what can be done here.

What is your water change schedule like? I would dose the meds again, and also start doing large weekly water changes (50%) and stir up the sand a bit to make sure you're not gettign anaerobicpockets leeching CO2 causing PH drops.

Thx, normally I change around 35% per week, but maybe that`s not enough. I will increase waterchanges but what kind of med are you recommending?

I have always used erythromycin with good success.

The most recent time is when I got some polypterus delhezi that were wild caught. They were bleeding from their mouth and their belly, and one of them had a large spot of red and orange coloration which looked infected.


But with water changes, and treating with that antibacterial meds, they recovered and healed just fine and are still doing great to this day.
