i have a fx5 on my 150 right now, thinking of adding another filter, my choices are ac110 or a fluval 405
what u guys think? tank has peacock bass in it

I think I would go with the fluval 405, I have been using a fluval 405 for my 150g for years now, it works great and I never have problems with it, And you can buy all the filtration items at any pet store.

I can not give you an unbiased answer.... I have had fluval fx5's before and Really like them but I have never tried a fluval 405 but I have had an ac110 and really liked it .

What I am trieing to say is each has a great reputation for good quality products each will have its pros and cons and you have to weigh them out and see what one will do the best job that you are intending it to do .

I think either way you are going to get a good result

^ good points

I agree with an above poster. AC's are much easier to access to clean. In my 125g I have a FX5 in the middle, AC110 in one corner, and fluval submersible FU4 in the other corner. THat way there's a current throughout the entire tank. The AC's really push the water around, and do a great job oxygenating (is that even a word??lol) too

The main bacteria load is in the fx5. The AC just helps out
