Ive had my first tank for a while (a little 10gal) and now i have a chance to get a 30gal for free. However its a reptile tank right now and im wondering what steps have to be taken to ensure that it can be used for a fish tank. HELP!!!

Make sure it holds water first. If it does, i'd goto local pet store and get some aquarium safe cleaner and give it a good scrubbing.

Make sure that there are no cracks, of course. Do you know how to make sure that the sealant is OK?

And by the way, I would put it in the bathtub, or garage, or somewhere...And fill it up and leave it full for a few days to make sure that it holds water. You'll also want to clean it out, there's different solutions you can use(bleach, vineagar, etc...) but other people can tell you more about that!

a thirty gallon is cheap. its less time consuming and easier to go and buy a new one that is already clean and that you know holds water. dont waste your time with a reptile tank

Ill probably just put an extra sealant on the sides and one the bottom after i clean it... But i just need to know if there is an ultra effective way to get rid of all the crap the bearded dragons left over

I agree, if your starting a 30 gallon out of just a tank, it's gonna be more time and more money cleaning the tank and buying the light, filter, air pump and heater. You might as well just buy a tank kit with all of that for cheaper.
