I have 2 tanks, that need some type of fish that will breed untill i can find someone who has 4" azuls and about 10 of them. so here are the tank dimensions
70x24x24
70x24x16

I need a type of fish that wont outgrow the tank, and is a nice looker.
I was thinking the smaller tank I would try a nice pair of discus, but was looking for other ideas.
Thanks.

Discus are better kept in groups of a minimum of 4, unless you get a pair of adult breeders. You might look at an angel tank, or many types of plecos, group of discus, sailfin mollies, african cichlids, JDs, or other types of SA/CA cichlids.

Dovii:D

I wanted a dovii, but they get up to 3 feet. and that is to big for a 24" wide tank.

I was gona buy a breeding pair of discus, just dont know what kind yet.

I do have a red tiger mota, so all i would need is another.

But idk.

I kinda wana breed something that is more on the rare/$$ side. like the exspensive discus.

male dovii max out in the wild at 30", but almost never get over 21-22" in captivity. and they would be fine in your tank. females don't get over 16"

hmm interesting.

The only problem is if i buy a flowerhorn it's gona have to be proven fertile. Its like 1/10 males are fertile.. so I dont wana drop 100$+ on a fh and it not be able to make fry

What color type of discus are you looking for?? Some color types sell for more money than others. Common Blue Diamonds sell for cheap, while a nice Leopard Snakeskin can easily sell for $50-$70 at 2.5". Same goes for pairs...a GOOD pair can run into the thousands of dollars. But you can find sexed/mated pairs for $500 easily. I can get them if you're interested.
