2x4 quality for stand.

so i bought the lumber, some pieces are knotty and some edges are kind of beveled. Hard to describe really but the wood is solid, just some small imperfections, would this effect strength? its for a 120gal, I'll be using uarujoeys design (youtube)

You should be fine as long as the knots don't effect the strength of the board.

OK, let me rephrase. As long as the knots are not giant knots that look like the board could brake in half, the boards strength should not be effected very much. If you still don't feel comfortable then trade them for some less knotty boards. You could post a picture, I am just guessing just how knotty these boards are.
