"Based on their size, it looks like they're 3-year-olds, which were probably produced from a small handful of fish that were illegally introduced into the lake," Ben Swigle, a fish biologist at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), told Live Science

A ranger noticed the 3,000 to 4,000 goldfish a couple of weeks ago in Teller Lake #5 off Arapahoe Road and reported it to CPW.

There are several ponds and larger bodies of water that are infested with goldfish around here. It would seem they are prolific enough to stay ahead of the predators.

Seem plausible that a few gold fish dumped into this lake lead to this kinda bloom? Zero predators that noticed the bright orange?
Anyone know what predators are "suppose" to be in the lake? I would think a few Pikes and XXL LMB should be able to handle it.

Wonder what they native fish are, maybe they should throw in a few bass, I bet they would eat them all

I've actually tried using live gold fish as bait while fishing. no hits

use a shad or minnow and they hardly have time to sink before you get a bite
