bought a new silver at 3 inches a few weeks ago, its not up to 4 inches. was eating only feeders, but i've since moved to frozen bloodworms, and now to hikari floating sticks. Are these good for growth? When is a good time to switch to massivore or hikari gold?

Again, use your friendly "search this forum" function my friend :)

I would just get them on Hikari Food Sticks right away. Break it in half before you give it to them at that size. I find smaller aros are easier to train on pellets, so why not start right away? = ). Once you get them on crickets its a nightmare to get them off.

x2, but if everyone actually took the time to search, this forum might get a bit boring lol.

Try to limit feeding it feeders. Also check your local bait shop for night crawlers and the smaller red worms. crickets are also yummy fish food.

Just like how people should use the search function, others should read carefully. I believe his questions were:

I just got a 4incher as well and am feeding it freeze dried krill and hikari floating sticks. With my last arowana, as soon as he got big enough, I started to feed it a market shrimp and food stick mix. I've always believed, personally, that shrimp helped with color so that's why I got him eating that stuff. I've never tried massivore or hikari gold because, up until a few days ago, never heard of it. Time to look into it!

You seem to be on the right track with feeding your arowana.:)
