I am looking for a female jack dempsey to go with my male which is 4-5" already. I am in martin,tn. Pm me if you have, thanks. Oh and it doesn't have to be local.

Male Jack dempsey have glitter spots under their eye....

Female Jack Dempsey have labyrinth pattern under their eye and gill plate.... colors are usually teal or blue in color..

the 1st picture is a male, the 2nd picture is a female..

just go to Petsmart or petco ..... I know for sure that Petsmart will sometime have huge Jack Dempsey at 5"- 7" mark...... and their weekly delivery is on Thurs.. (at least thats what it is in California)

Easy for you to say, that's a 2 hour drive for me. And when I have gone, they are all very small. I have never seen large jd's there.

hmm.. i didnt know that... i guess i'm just so used to city that i dont recall the rest of US isn't as lucky as California..

Well.... i think cragslist should be your next place to look.... if your not in a big hurry.... get a small female and wait 6 months.. thats what i've notice for jack dempseys.. at 6-8 months old.. they are mature enough....

Both mine have started to pair off.. from when i got them back in November.... and are pushing 5 and 6 inches.. male and female....

sorry for my comment earlier.... sounds a bit dumb now.. being a city folk... :(

Lol it's perfectly fine. I would buy a small female jd at petsmart but problem is , my only spare tank that has no fish in it, has lots of live plants. I don't want her to eat them :(
