Lol it's perfectly fine. I would buy a small female jd at petsmart but problem is , my only spare tank that has no fish in it, has lots of live plants. Well.... i think cragslist should be your next place to look.... if your not in a big hurry.... get a small female and wait 6 months.. thats what i've notice for jack dempseys.. at 6-8 months old.. they are mature enough....
Both mine have started to pair off.. from when i got them back in November.... and are pushing 5 and 6 inches.. male and female....
