3 armies growout

Got my 3 armies today in the 40b grow out 2 are about 4 inches and 1 is close to 4..... there are 3 threadfin cichlids in there about 3.5 inches as teacher fish..... these guys came in pretty skinny as they usually do..... my concern is should i try to lean the off live now or should i add feeder guppies or roseys to fatten them up first then try attempting non live..... their stomachs are shrunk in to a degree and thats what worries me

I would try non lives first. Maybe Tilapia cut longer, shaped like a feeder just to see if they even hit it. If not then you can go to live.

I would just feed live and get them healthy. Once they get a little bigger they are very easy to get off live.

Thanks guys im gonna try talapia for 2 days if it doesnt work ill get guppies....... problem now is i wont have enough time to quarutine them.........

Does anyone know how armies react to prazipro?...... im not going to treat them now but if i have to feed unquaruntined feeders i may need to down the line

With mine I tried tilapia for 2 days then put in 2 dozen feeders and as long as they all ate fairly well as soon as they were gone I started to starve them to break from live

That's what I'm leaning towards Steve...... I'll fatten them up then starve them off live

for a four inch fish?....they'd have to be some pretty big guppies.

Well after the two days they wouldnt eat so i got 40 guppies for 3 of them which were gone within a day ( threadfins had some as well) and now ive beed trying to get them to eat tilapia and shrimp but its not happening .... just have to play the waiting game

Should i raise the temp to increase hunger its at 81 right now
