Well i set up a 120 with 3 ghost knifes, 1 male and 2 females! Tank has 3 areas for hiding and completely covered with plants! Going to try to breed them! Any advice, has anybody tried to house a group of BGK's. The females are about 12" each and the new male i got is 10"!

Its not good to put ghost knives together they all give off electrical signals

how do you know if they are male or female thought you couldnt tell..

After researching i found that the males head looks more like a horse, longer nose, and the females head is shorter and rounder!

You could at least give them each a house of thier own. Like Pvc pipes just to make sure. But incase you find symptoms of aggresion, better have each of them in thier own tank.

I hear it wouldn't work, but I'd be really jealous if it did. It would be so cool to have a tank with a flock of tiny BGK's

i have heard of this working before and i've seen 2 living together comfortably although thats not normally recommended,i think you have a great chance to breed them,it has happened before albeit by accident,go for it:)

Lots of fighting, but there are times when everybody is resting. There are 5 big black ghost all living in a 120! I am going to wait 1 more day, i think i have a pair!

I was talking with this dude in Australia that has almost 1 dozen huge Black Ghost knifes in a 240 8 2 2!
He says he has alot of pipes for everybody in case one gets a little beat up! He is a breeder and knows his stuff.
Another guy from the Amazon mentioned a cool method i have been trying and thats to have dividers in the tank with a little space ontop for each ghost to swim back and forth. My 3 seem to be hanging seperate, then at night fight but keep retreating to there own sections in the day! I am still trying to make it happen and will keep trying forever! Getting another big male next week hoping my female will like his stuff!
