Thought I'd share some photos of 3 pairs of Cichlasoma in my collection that have spawned and have free swimming fry.
Cichlasoma amazonarum
Not caught well on camera but these get very black with bright white bellies when in spawning dress. Really interesting color pattern.




Cichlasoma dimerus - Mato Grosso form.
This pair has stopped defending it's fry as they are rather large but still tolerate them in their tank.

Cichlasoma dimerus.
I don't know where these originate, but they are different from the Mato Grosso form. Interestingly they have a new bunch of wrigglers, while tolerating their older fry from their last spawning (at least for now.)
