aiight i have 3 dats in my 55 long they are all diffrent sizes 2in 3in 3.5in. and the smaller one is hanging out on the top i guess its scared and the 3in hiding behind the filter and the bigger one cruising by the drift wood. when will this stop i got them from the same person and all but idk when they will stop fighting! please help i know i should get 5+ but i cant

A communiy ofTigers will always fight a little bit. This is totally unavoidable. they constabty establish hierarchy as they continue to grow into monitor fish sizes.
You can add more fish and remove hiding spots to help and add
Ditherfish.
If you don't like to see the tigers fight then you really should not keep this fish. I am always finding fish scales on the tank bottom from when they squabbling.

What tank volume is 55 long?? You could
Grow out 5 dats in a 55gallon tank for a year max. Then upgrade.

hey ok so can i just let them be and let them settle? im worried because one was really active and swim around the whole tank and now he is hiding on the top. lets say i only get 3 in a 55 long well they be fine? will they all be stable

One may hide for many months, 3 will be ok for a year. Then bigger tank. As long as the fighting does not get excessively bad.
No guarantee them being stable either.
I love tigers, but they are not an easy fish to control and determine behaviour, stability etc.

if u can add more i think it would be better. noticed this personally before when i only had 3, the two were bullying the smaller one.

I have 6 indo dats from 4-6"- I had them in my 125 with 3 motoros and a school of tinfoils. They were always hiding, and faded out, and I could not get them to eat..

Last night everyone got moved into the 240, with no hiding spots, and all are swimming around, bright as ever, and eating.

I think the more open the tank, the better they will do.
