and i lost 1 of the pair :( they only been in the tank for about 3 days, last night the male passed away. i haven't even really had a chance to get them to feed. today im throwin in some live ghost shrimp for the female thats stll left. hope she doesn't pass away. i read for weeks on them n thought i was ready, but i guss not. i know there sensitive to water conditions. lil tuff on gettin them to eat. lots of water changes.

she's jus a pup. like 3" disc. retic. i haven't actually tested the paramaters but i've done daily waterchanges since 1 week b4 i got her. i think the one that passed away was possibly already sick? he was doin backflips in the tank. i think my next ray will be a lil more hardy and older. it was my first try. ill let u guys know how my female retic does over time.

Sorry for your loss. Good luck with the f.

Did u test ure water yet????

sorry bro...you could always start out with a larger motorro, they tend to be more forgiving

yeah, i haven't tested the water because i haven't really had a reason to. temps good, its been cycled. fish are in it and have been for the past 6 months or so. ill do a test today i guess even tho i never really do. never had to i guess u can say. stingrays are so damn cool that ill do what it takes to keep one. i want a motoro now lol. decent sized as well with more hardyness

f'ing retards! i swear, and he's got bigger tanks than i do, my poor retics of 5 years are in trailer homes compared to a 150!! but you know what they are alive and fat!!!!!!

im sorry but i would do a bit more resurch before you think of buying any other rays

for 1 i wouldnt have brought a ray that was doing back flips in the shop and 2 water tests are very important with rays and should be tested before you added the new rays to the tank

next point you have had the rays for 3 days and not tryed to feed them :(

a small baby retic needs like 2 x feeds per day why did you leave it 3 days before trying ?

just so you know, a large common and a half grown GN are also my number one no-good-for tankmates with rays

i didnt wait 3 days, i tried 3 times a day since day 1. i haven't witnessed her eating. but she's still swimming and looking healthy n lively. i throw in blood worms, cut up shrimp, cut up silversides, night crawlers. im offering her a veriety daily, i jus haven't seen her actually devour anything.
