Im planning on changing my set up and getting rid of my bristlenose catfish and getting into american cichlids.
Ive got a 3 foot tank and i am looking at getting some small to medium size cichlids and some dither fish.
What would be the best colours for the gravel and back ground? i was planning on all black hoping it will really bring the colour of the fish out. i need to repaint the stand, so the tank needs to be emptied, can i run the filter hooked up to its self for 1 or 2 days or will the bacteria in it die?
