I was at petsmart the other day and saw a little green terror in one of the tanks. He was much better looking than all the other specimens so I decided to bite the bullet and pay the $3.50 for him.

I needed a way to grow him out to be suitable for my 75 so I decided to utilize my 3 gallon glass as a nice grow out home. I felt inspired so I bought a bunch of plants. I also purchased a bag of sand and a 12.5" t5 flourescent setup from lowes for only 24 bucks! On my way home I found some nice natural looking leaves and decided to use the firm the tank. I boiled the sand and the leaves before adding them.

You are saying this with a flowerhorn in a 20g? ^^^^





I really like it, but i have the freedom to critisize due to the fact i am no longer a n overstocker. A 3g is a great quarantine tank. I really like the idea, but if you are going to plant it, go crazy, get some ferts and get some mosses, ferns, swords and crypts etc. How much do you think a 48" t5 fixture would cost at lowes/home depot? I need to light up a 55g with some swords ( amazon ). I think you should invest in a 55g and replicate this idea, i have seen fishbum do this, he inspired me to do the same but oscars got me
 
i dont have a fh in a 20gal
 
20gal long-with a 1.5inch sagitae
20gal long- geting a fh from camph
12gal reef- its starting to look better (1 firefish)
40galb- green terror and hujeta gar
100gal- guppie tank muhahahhahahaha jk jk
