Hey guys! So I'm just Doing research right now and I just want to know if a 3" clown loach would be a good idea for a tank mate for my rtg that is 11" right now. Now I know arowanas have a hard time catching loaches but I still want to make sure if 3"is a good size or not or if I need to go bigger like 4" and up clown loaches.
Thank u!

bigger is always better :D lol

A clown loach will be no good with anything. You need 5 of them at least.

I will be getting atleast three clone loaches. My question is my rtg is 11" now and I'm wondering if a 3" is too small...

Or if 3" clown is too small.... I have the option of getting a 5" clown but would this clown be able to grow as well to match my rtgs growth rate and survive by not fitting into my rtgs mouth?

Yah ok... 3" might be too small.... I guess I'll have to to get 5" and up? How fast do clown loaches grow anyway? I think if my rtg chooses to eat and gulp a 3" loach it can. Like basses when they would try to scarf anything down that is big.
I thi k a 4" inch loache would not be able to fit in my rtgs mouth but as my rtg grows that might become different if the loache doesn't as well. I hear loaches r poisonous so I don't want any surprises incase my rtg does happan to catch a loache

they grow real slowly and they have barbs on the side of their head. If your aro did try to eat one it would be in for a nasty shock resulting either spitting it back out or chocking. If you can get bigger it is better but my RTG was about 11 inches and i bought 3 to 4 inch CLs. It has never tried to eat them and they are way to shifty to get caught out easily.
