Is there by any chance that i can get my 3" mono on baby hikari Pellets? becuase buying guppies are getting pretty expensive.. if there is no way , can i starve him and feed him pellets?

unfortunatly... you still got ways to go... feeders is the best way to cut down on aggressive hunger... try... krill... break it down 2 lil pieces so they can get use to smell and taste.. (hikari) well best of luck...

Cichla are Piscavores and should be fed accordingly until; in my opinion from my experience and learnign from others, at least 6". though I have experimented as well.. Azoo arowana sticks were easy for me and they stay together better that anyother sticks i've used..

You bought a fish that requires experience and patience for it to thrive. And A willingnes to take care of them...

Training can take more than a month. And also requires live food as a piece of the training.. you could also starve them.. Some may die some may cross over to the food of your choice. it is up to you.Starving does not garauntee success, but has been for people in the past. Myself included with certain species.

My question is why do you own cichla? And is it worth keeping RIGHT or should you go a different direction :) just some food for thought. As the pay off in cichla is a beautiful thing.:)

Buying food should be a happy thing. if not then maybe you have the wrong fish :)

I agree, start with krill, then start substituting pellets.

hmm .. it doesn't fit me but im still keeping it and im thinking of what Tongue33 said and i'll feed it live untill 6"

my baby pbass took aro hikari sticks from day 1, and have been eating any kind of pellet ever since. never gives me a hard time about it. even when i buy new ones, i jus start with hikari aro sticks n they go for it before the 3rd day.

well... good luck once again.... if your goin w/live.... make sure you quarantine them first before feeding......
