Hey, i have a 150g tank wit a 75g sump (filled with about 50g of water) so the entire system is approximately 200g. it will be a SW tank with 150lbs LR and 2" deep sand bed. i am planning to house only about a dozen small nano tank fish such as a royal gramma, firefish, gobies, clownfish, lawnmower blenny and a jawfish along wit some hermits and snails. i have a 950gph pump with 6 feet head height so approximately 700 gph of flow through the sump which is a refugium. is that enough turnover for these creatures. and also would it be possible to add an emarld crab and maybe some peppermint shrimp later on with only this amount of flow?

the 'rule' is just like the inch per gallon 'rule', it isn't a rule at all

i run as little as 5X per hour to as many as 15.. depends on the tank and it's needs

ya, its just that i still got drain probs and cant get them to work and im fed up wit problem solving after 4 months

depending on your stock, 3 times is fine. FO requires the least amount of turnover. Now if you wanted to keep LPS and even SPS corals then you will want to keep them as directed. 12x is the norm for my tanks as well.
