I have a 30 gallon bow front stocked with a German Ram, 2 rubberlip plecs, 2 dwarf gourami, and Overrun with breeding swordtails, the tank is heavily planted....can I add a female convict or Firemouth to the set-up to help eleviate my Swordtail breeding problem without losing any of the other tank mates...

As is always said on this forum, "all fish are different", but in my experience you could fairly safely add a Firemouth to this mix and be fine (other than you'd be a little overstocked, but who isn't?!).
Just my 2 cents.
