Hi so i was wondering what kind of fish i could breed that are easy to find and could bring in some money? They would be in a 30 gallon.

minumum of 2 tanks id say. at least something to put fry in. then you need to find somebody selling a PAIR. expensive cause it takes a while have fish from diff blood lines living together and actualy pair off and produce fry. also depends where you live and how many stores you have near you. example.. my friend has a pair of rtm red tiger mota in a 30 gal that breeds 1-2 times a month depending and he can get 50 cents- 2 bucks depending on size. if you only have 1-2 tanks your limited on how many you can raise and most stores wont give much money for anything under an inch... try convicts and see how fast they grow how often they breed, how much money it cost to buy brine, blood, flake,... good luck! i just woke up sorry if that didnt make too much sense...

I get $1 to $1.50 per juvenile firemouth after an inch. I agree that you need at least two tanks: one to breed, one to raise the fry. It's better to have more. Some species will need to have a tank for the male and a tank for the female so they don't kill each other in between breeding times. Also, as was said before, you can end up with a few batches of fry before they're big enough to sell, so more fry tanks can equal more growing at one time.

Bring in some money, or save money??????Most stores trade in fry for food and accessories........For example, a batch of 10-15 1-1/2 month old convicts buys me a bag of 8.8oz Hikari Gold........The most common fish for a 30g that is easy to breed and tradeable in MOST stores are:

Convicts
Brichardi
Gold Nugget Pleco
Discus
Angelfish
Ram cichlid:German or Balloon, your choice.....

When I said I get money for the firemouth fry, I'm talking store credit, not cash.

one small problem is that the ones that are easy to find will also typically bring in less money . . .

talk to your LFS first and see if a) there is any interest from them, and b) if they have anything they recommend

I think i will go with the firemouths i already tried the convicts any body want free convict fry?

How to ship the Convict fry to Florida (32164)? I'll take some free Convict fry. I have been waiting to start up a breeding tank.

I dont have any experience shipping fish so sorry but anyone close to me can have them.

I have a convict tank, they breed like crazy. They are extremely easy to breed.
