What would i need to plant my 30 gal imma plant it. Then try to breed 2 electric blue crayfish in there. And wht do ppl mean by co2? im not sure and i wanna have a good tank. So i would like lighting and such imma noob so anyhelp plz.
atleast 2 watts of lighting per gallon. a basic fertilizer(use it very sparringly at first unless your plants show defiencies).
these are the basic things needed for a planted tank, this isnt the best by any means. im recommending just starting with this as some crays destroy plants. so i would see what happens, test a few plants out
Fertilizers would be something like Root Tabs, or liquid fertilizer. Here is Co2, there are a few ways you can do Co2 for your tank if you want to. There are a couple informative threads about WpG on MFK, just do a little search, it might even be a sticky. Make sure that lighting is in the right range. 6500k is popular, I think most say over 10000k is useless, I don't know either way.
id like to warn you considering nobody else has yet. I have had crayfish before, they eat everything. Plants, algae, shrimp, bloodworms. I honestly do not think this will work if you are conisdering plants in a crayfish tank. Let me know if u have any questions.
If you really want some specific information on growing plants, check out the stickies on this forum. Great information in there for if you're just starting up. It will give you the complete crash-course. Hope this helps!
Try reading the stickies. They are really informative. Also, a lot of the questions you're asking depend on the plants you choose, and that information is readily available for you to find after you've chosen the plants. If a plant doesn't have leaves, it will die, even if it does have roots. Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves. So, the crays will kill the plants.
