so reacently my convicts in my 30 gallon died and now i have a empty tank . any suggestions,leaning towards firemouth but ny ca/sa suggestions im also open to keeping africans thanks for you guys help

For a 30 I would go with apistos, corydoras and pencilfish! Lots of colour and movement 
origanaly i was going to put apistos in a 10 gallon but this one freed up so i planed on putting them in the 30 gall but they dont have them at my lfs

amona outbreak, it started so i did 90% water change and they were all back to normal and out of no where they started ropping like flies
A 30 gal tank is only large enough for dwarf cichlids as adults, be they Africans or S Americans, IMO that tank is only large enough for cichlids that top out at 3" (Rams, Apistos, or some small African shell dwellers).
A 30 gal would be OK for young FMs (Thorichthys) as a temporary grow out tank, but they get too large as adults for that tiny tank, they average at about 6-8" as adults, and I have seem much larger..

i had the tank located to close to a window moved thats when everything was fine for a couple of days then they started dying the tank is far away from a window now . i guess it was just a rookie mistake
