Well this is my first attempt at a sump. Ill update with pictures as i go. To sum it all up I got an old pump and I have an extra 30g after moving my pleco pair. This sump is going on one of my 75g growouts. The pump is rated at 550 gph so i think that should be fairly good for this tank. Im using a 5 drawer organizer for the media and such. First layer is filter pad, next is floss, the next two are pot scrubbers and the last is matrix. Ill be putting a layer of gravel in the bottom for plants and will also have pothos in it. This will also give me a place to hide my heater. Updates and pics will come soon.

sounds fun. good luck

I got the plumbing dry fitted and glued. For my first time doing it it inly took about 45 min all together. Waiting about a half hour for it to dry then ill run some water through it outside. Im making the spraybar now.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the gurgling with this type of drilled tank? The tank was already drilled from the last owner and i cannot seem to find a way to quiet it down even a little bit

Well its done. Still have some little things to do like putting walls and doors on the stand and hard plumbing the overflow but for the most part its good. Didnt turn out too bad for about 8 hours from start to finish and a days worth of planning. I still need to paint the back of the tank to hide the plumbing but im really happy with it.
