Well I was cleaning tank today and removing all the sand. This dude aimed for the lid and smashed it hard! Shot out in the living room almost 10' away. This was the first time he popped the lid and went flying. I got him right back in, but had to hand hold him for almost two hours! Hope it makes it through the night. Anything else I can do to help aid my fishy?!
 
I think the craziest thing is....it knew exactly where the lid opened and smashed it hard. I have a 30" wide tank and the lid is hinged only 8" from the front for maintenance. Then the other 20" is a solid piece of glass
 
just keep the water clean and monitor. Great reminder to ppl out there to weigh down those lids! I have so many sand bags on mine im scared the lid will break in.. Good luck If he swimming fine now u are looking pretty good
 
UPDATE: back to normal already! i had to hand hold for 2hrs because it kept wanting to go vertical.
 
Glad your fish made it... my 28 incher wasn't so lucky. Keep an eye out for infection, but not much else that can be done after that.
