Hi All,
I am at the rough stages of planning our future ray tank. The display portion will be better 300 and 400 gallons. I am planning on setting up a drip system on the system that will do a daily water change, thinking about 100 gallons? Think is will be sufficient?
I was originally planning on doing a large wet dry tank (75-100 gallon aquarium half filled with bio balls) but wondering if this is the best option or not.
I have never done a large freshwater tank so I am not really sure as to what are some of the better equipment options. I keep very large saltwater systems (have roughly 900 gallons of salt) but never did much with the freshwater thing.
I am planning on a UV sterilizer for the system, was thinking a 40w. Feel this is sufficent?
I am planning a pair or trio of rays (motoros) and the rest of the fish on the smaller side (no arrowanas or gar).
Any suggestions would be great. I am working up a parts/equipment list so I can start piecing it together over the next 6-9 months to start the tank in a year or so.
I have been hearing about FBF (fluidized bead filters I think?) but don't know much about them and keep reading good things about the FX5s.
What I am looking for is recommendations on the best filtration system for the money. I am not opposed to spending good money on good equipment when it is needed.
Thanks!
