Hi,

Well I plan to get a 300 gal sometime in the near future. The dimensions are gonna either be - 8'x2.5'x2' or 8'x3'x20". Filtration will be Two Fx5's, but I may throw on a HOB filter too with it. Now, theres quite a bit of fish I like, but I want to have the best group for me and for the tank size. Heres my lists:

Group A

(1) Oscar
(1) Jack Dempsey
(1) Green Terror
(1) Red bay Snook
(1) Bullhead Cat
(1) Pike Cichlid

Group B

(1) Grammode
(1) Jaguar Cichlid
(1) Buttikoferi
(1) Red Wolf fish

Group C

(1) Red Bay Snook
(1) PBass
(1) Oscar
(1) Giant Gourami
(1) Black Lancer Cat
(1) Bichir

Group B is kind of a crazy mixture, it might just be a tank of chaos. What do you guys think? Good mixes? Any of the groups overstocked? Im thinking I will go with the wider tank. Any fish you would suggest to be replaced etc?

Group D

Pbass
Dats
and an Aro

:D

:headbang2 Agreed, but with the options you had I went with C.

i dont think B or C can be chosen....
in B,red wolf fish should NOT be kept with anything that aggressive.
in C,any bichir would be easily outgrown and eaten by the pbass.

i go with D.

there's some spiny eels that get pretty big, much to big for most snook or pbass IMO

they dont grow fast enough to keep up with a pbass.
and im sure a 2 foot pbass can swallow a 2 foot eel.

Yeah I was thinking of an Aro, but they get too big. I was also thinking about the Bichir, it could be swallowed by the cat, or even another fish with a big mouth.

Since a few of you thought some fish were incompatible, which ones would you switch out and what would you put in its place?
