300 gallon 7/15/07

Just some quick update pics of the 300 comm. I added 5 emperor cichlids and 5 tiger scats.

Random dog shot. I caught him shaking his head left to right and that is what I got. I recently took Grimace to the vet because he had a growth on his leg that was the size of a golf ball. I was so scared it was going to be cancer. It turned out to be an infection and he is well on the road to recovery. I don't know what I would do without my boy.

Wet dry with two pumps each rated @ 1400 gph at 0' head For bio media I have about 50lbs of mixed media including eheim, cell pore among others. It is probably over kill but every time I do a fish order I seem to order another 5L of some kind of bio.

Generic Canister Filter running just to pick up solid waste off the bottom. I got this tip from a good friend. The end of the canister filter is attached to some pvc piping that goes all the way down to the bottom of the tank stopping about 1/8" above the very bottom. In my bare bottom tank this will pick up any of the waste and I just clean the canister filter. Besides right after feeding I kid you not my tank is spotless. You will not find one piece of debris on the bottom.

I will keep an eye out. The tig is pushing 17" and thick. He is also very agressive and everyone in the tank besides a pike cichlid stays clear away from him.

Do you mean peacock bass? If so I chose to go with the emps instead of pbass.
