I have 2 fx6s I picked up on Black Friday for 170 each, and an aquaclear 110 to use for the 300

but I also have the option to pay an additional 1200ish for sump, drilling, fittings plus whatever the pump cost so an extra 1500 if I go with sump system

Money is somewhat tight
but this is one of my dream aquariums and I want it done right, stock is small now but when the clown loaches and King Kong parrots get bigger I would say it’s running at max capacity in 2-3 years

i can keep the fx6 for other aquariums in the house too,

which should I do?

I think the sump is nicer but the two fx6s and aqua clear 110 is definitely sufficient as is. Depends on how crafty you are but I think 1500 is pretty expensive for a sump granted you just have to connect yourself. Either way I don’t think there’s a wrong answer!

I got a 300 from glass cages a couple months back. I still haven’t filled it yet as I’m still doing prep, but I am pretty impressed with the quality vs cost. I ended up just having them build and ship it to me and I drilled it myself. I wasn’t real sure where I wanted my bulkheads at the time I bought it though. So there is always that option if you feel up to it. It’s really not as bad as you would think. Plenty of YouTube walk throughs available.

Thanks everyone I decided to have them drill the wholes and install the bulkheads (like 150) and find my own sump or make it, save like 1000 dollars

You could have them drill and put overflows in the tank and build your own sump system to save money. Building a sump can be done cheaply and it's under the stand so it doesn't have to look pretty.
I went with this route thank you
