I'm getting a 300 gal 96x30x25 tank.

I just decided I want to do a center overflow instead of one on each end.

So, what size/number drain and return holes do I want? What placement should I get?

\oOOo/ Something looking like that with the drains in the middle?

I'll be doing a Durso standpipe for this, so if dimentions are given (that would be great) keep that in mind please.

Overflows and sumps are completely new to me, so any information you want to add would be great.

Thanks in advance. Rock on MFK :headbang2

IMO you will find that the tank will work better if you let if flow from end to end. I have a 300 with fons and they don't mind it at all and it flows 1500+ gph.

I think youll want to have either 2 1" drains or 2 1.5" drains depending on the turn over rate want. I have a 1" HOB overflow on my 75gal an im getting a lil over 700gph. an have 3/4" or 1" outflow pipes, depending on what you choose for the overflow pipes.

Yea, a 360 view is what I'm going for. I'll be housing a black aro, ornate bichir, and a common plec. Maybe a ray. I'd like a great turnover, but nothing extreme, prob 1800 gal an hour. Would two 1.5 drains do that? I'm also wanting to make this quiet, any tips for doing this with the pipeing? (Other than a stand pipe)

Thanks Joey for the great advice.
