Currently running 90 Gallon sump on my 300 Gallon and looking to add filtration. Can i add and additional sump or should i just add a FX5 i have a new 40 gallon sump that i can use but don't know if it is possible to hook up two sumps on one tank any ideas for this type of set up. Problem with adding the FX5 is that my arcylic tank has a 6 inch lip so how can i attach the FX5. I have corner overflows to the 90- gallon.

IMO you've already got all the filtration you really need. I run a 75 gallon sump on my 300. 2 7" socks( 50 and 100 micron). I coulnt imagine it being a cleaner tank.

But if you do decide to add a canister, you'll most likely need to drill holes for your hoses. Pretty simple to do

Acrylic is pretty easy to drill. If you decide to run a FX5 on your tank.

If you want to add more filtration then I would probably add the other sump. That lip is what I don't like about acrylic tanks.

me too. I love acrylic for alot of reasons, but the lip makes hob's and canisters a challenge. I'm assuming you need more mechanical filtration? because if you're not, I know my sump is filtering around 2400 gph but it could easlily handle 5000-6000gph if I had the pumps to move the water. You've got even more space than me. Just something to think about
