Anything is possible. Just ask Ellie Goulding. So yes it could happen. How long are you willing to wait? Round here I see an amazing deal a month on craigslist under the fish section. Id say give it a good month or two and something will come up. Especially right before christmas. That's the time for bargains.

Somebody could get a 300 gallon + (think 500 gallon) for free in massachuset great condition however so big...its one of the threads still availible with pics...so yeah anything possible

To be honest, most people getting out of the hobby tend to ask waaaay to much for their used equipment. They also like to sell it all as a single lot. However dont get discouraged, there are always deals to be found. You'd be searching for a while. Could be a year could be tomorrow.

I'd say a good used tank will sell for 1.00 to 2.00 per gallon. So 300 gallon tank used could be 300-600 bucks and it would be a good deal.

Your issue is that you're looking for a custom sized tank. Most mass produced companies dont make a 300 stock tank. 180 is usually the cut off. So people selling these tanks know their tanks cost more therefore ask more on the secondary market.
