Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how much humidity will a 300 gallon rubbermaid tank produce? I am thinking of doing one in my living room and worried about the humidity issue. Also, has anyone have an idea of how you would make a top for these? Been wanting to do a SA/CA Cichlid pond.

Any Ideas?

Love this group, excited to be a part of this.

Right on, yea I was thinking of that but de-humidifiers are a little pricey hahaha.
I mean how big of a dehumidifier would you need? Would one of the "mini" one works?

Depends on how big the room is. You can probably pick up a decent sized one for under $100. It would also help if you covered the pond with a sheet of plexi glass or plastic too

Water temperature has allot to do with humidity. Lower the temp lower the humidity. Also depends on where you live as well. Humidity is different in all regions.

Gotcha, thanks for the quick replies guys.

Would it help with humidity if i cover half of it?
I saw mini dehumidifiers that said they hold like 2.2 pints? Is that a decent amount?
Im here in eastern kansas, its usually everything lol changes a lot.

If you don't mind emptying it a lot. I like the plexiglass idea, its cheap and easy to cut to size. You could evan hinge it.
