hi all i lost all my fish due to a house fire and will be building a new tank soon. my new tank will be aproxamatly 300 gallons and will measure 72"X36" and 30" tall.

so i am trying to decide on a stock listing for this tank. my options are a huge African mbana tank or a South American preditor tank.

i have been keeping Africans for a little over a year.

if i go with the SA tank i would like a female festae and a tiger oscar. i am still trying to decided on what else to put in the tank perhaps severums or a medium size pike.

so if this was your tank what would you go with?

Sorry about the fire!
In 300G, I'd want something showy and bigger than african mbuna. at least one, maybe two, larger show fish and smaller ones to fill it in.

Sorry for your loss.

Of the 2 choices I'd definitely go with the SA predator tank. :)

Oscars can pretty much get along with any fish of similar size (or big enough not to fit in their mouth) and water specs. Mine get along with their tank mates just fine (check my 125 thread in my sig). As far as the feastae, I couldn't tell you as I've never kept one.

If you already have an African, go SA. I have a 90g of both. Like them both, although I think a huge tank filled with Africans would look awesome!
My African tank is kind of thin right now, but just intro'd some new juvenile stock, but it looks empty,.. Have a green texas, turquoise severum, three silver dollars and an 11-inch pleco in the other tank is looking very full!
