I will be setting up a 300 gallon tank around october/november. So far, here is what I have:

1-Clown knife (4 inches)
7-Clown loaches (3-7 inches)
1- Fire eel (12 inches)
1- Severum (6 inches)
1-Leopard Ctenopoma (6 inches)
1-Black Ghost Knifefish (8 inches)
1-Thin Bar Datnoid (5 inches)
3-Silver Dollars (4 inches)

I want to add a 5 inch jade goby and 5 inch widebar dat to finish off my collection. Is this a good idea? Also, I am considering swapping out my fire eel to make room for a black arowana (if I can find one) or a silver arowana.

Will this work?

i find the severum an odd selection compared to the rest. As well as the fire eel and silver dollars. its just such a random assortment. not to mention finding all of those things in exact sizes specified would be difficult.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

I already have all of those fish save the arowana, wide bar dat and jade goby. The size listed is the size they are currently at. I am just upgrading to a 300 gallon tank is all. My LFS has a jade goby at 5 inches and I have access to some widebar dats in the 4-5 inch range.

8 feet long, 30 inches wide, about 2 feet tall.

Nice:thumbsup: I would get the black aro and keep the fire eel also.

I be worry about the future aro taking down the loaches. I'm setting up a 300g 8' x 2.5' myself. My setup is 5x indo datnoids, black aro, 2x L14, and L48. I was gonna add 10x clown loaches, but the growth rate of the clowns vs. the aro scared me out of getting them.

There is enough room for them both with the other fish on that list too?

Yes, especially since they both inhabit separate parts of the tank. The eel and aro will likely never even meet. Never had a problem with arowana eating loaches no matter what the size difference. give the loaches a place to hide and you'll be fine.
