Hello,

im going to start 300 galon tank soon but i still didnt choose a filtration for this tank. I want to have extremely good water quality, but im not sure does sump filtration is necessery for that ? Maby you think using two external filters like eheim 2260 would be enough ?

I got 80 galons tank running up already with unimax 700 + unimax 250 in that tank, which is more than enough and id like to achive same in 300 galon tank, but it seems simply impossible to make overfiltration by using external filters in 300 galons.

What should i do ? I should go for sump filtration no matter what or there is alternative for that ?

Best regards !

pm kendragon for one of his filters....he uses a bead filter that works amazing! And he is a filter guru.

not a filter guru but 2 eheim 2260/62 is sufficient for 300 gallon. You might want to add a couple of under water jets to get more water circulation and blow crap into the intake. Of course, if you want to setup a sump, then the cost is going to be a little lower.
