Hi I'm planning on getting a 300gl tank but I live on a Back house the floor is cemented but not sure if the flooring will be strong enough to carry the weight of the tank and the top part of the cemented floor is laminated wood will the weigh of the tank crack the base cement? will it crack the laminated flooring I have several tanks right now the biggest is a 120gl but having second thoughts on the 300 any opinions will be greatley appreciated Thank's in advance.

hi, I cannot say for sure, but 1000 lt = 1 tonne, heavy, but the load is spead over 2m usually. so with a good cabnet with feet speading the load, might be ok, I think so, but if your floors moving, it may end up cracking the glass. sorry did not mean to make you more concerned. but worth thinking about. i'm making one myself, and i'm confident.:eek::eek:

A cement floor is the best thing to set a monster tank on.

Your flooring should be fine also as the load will be wide spread.

You should probably expose the cement floor and take the laminate off. That way it sits directly on the cement

The cement will not crack. What kind of stand do you have? That will make a big difference on the laminant.
