Not mine, saw this on craigslist.

This posting says they were used to hold non toxic material. The same person had these listed over the last two weeks- the first posts said they were used to hold fruit syrups. This could be a bit sticky, but it's worth the price for something that sized. Apparently they also come with stainless steel cages for reinforcement.

they are animal feed and stock tanks, used on farms for all sorts of nasty items (some not so much like "water") but not really a fish stock tank. Stay with a 300 gal rubbermaid.

i honestly have no idea how you could get a fish in there, or be able to look at it. kinda pointless.

Yeah. Rerun on Craig's list, but still a good deal. Just need to cut the top off and clean it out. You can move it with a forklift too! Every fish room should have a forklift or at least a pallet jack! :D

Sorry for missing the obvious.. you've got to cut it first! Knowdafish knows what he's talking about! :D

have fun cutting through the metal bars and the sturdy plastic. imo it would turn into more trouble than it's worth. i've seen these before and thought the same as you 2, but i passed for simple ease of work. rubbermaids at tractor supply stores are nearly nothing.

these are sold right next to the rubbermaids at tractor supply. If you can get one for $35 do it, those rubbermades aren't cheap IMO.

We recieve all kinds of chemicals in these totes at work. The plastic is only about 3/16 of an inch this. We have a recycling company pick them up as we empty about 60 of them a week. We use to use a recipricating saw to cut them up. and throw them away. Would make a good holding tank for some kind of fish but not long term. Empty tote weighs 175 lbs.

Sawzall would cut it like warm butter. It'd get the job done!

A lot of people use them for trash bins around here. They help to keep stray dogs and bears out of the garbage on trash day. I'm thinking about trying one for a feeder tank during the winter. I'd fill it during the summer.
