300g Native Tank (Build)

decided to go back to where i first started in fish keeping on thats keeping native fish..my 300g should arrive soon..my local pond has smallmouth bass and largemouth bass..i went this morning to catch some to bring home..caught a 16-18" smallie and a smaller largemouth to get me started..what you guys think?

I just can't see pulling a grown, wild fish from it's natural environment and tossing it in a tank. That must suck. Great looking fish though regardless.
 
heres my smallie, i dodnt get him home in time and he died from the stress. what can you do to help that?View attachment 903346

Smallmouth tend to like cooler water with more current than Largemouth and thus are harder to keep in aquaria, the spotted Bass is almost the same size and would be easier to keep in a 300g. aquarium than would the largemouth bass (which can reach over 30inches long) and the Smallmouth bass.
 
i figure ld it was the temperature change because i forgot i plugged my heater in and i got him from the river and out here in illinois its not to warm yet but i got my tanks temp down with a chiller so im hoping thats better for the fish right now
