Looks great! What do you use for lighting and ferts?

Since you having polies in your tank so the only thing that I would try/do java moss on the DW right side but your light is focus on the center, I'm not sure how long and how big your pothos but once its established it will suck up a lot of nutrition and might starve other plants.

Two t-5 light fixtures as well as two diy roost lights with high intensity bulbs that are positioned at a distance to create the effect of moonlight.

I have considered putting java moss on the background as well as driftwood on the left side, but I have had issues making it stick. The pothos is well established and the roots are in excess pf 20 inches in some places. I never had any issues with these plants in my prior tank, which also featured the same pothos plants.

I have no fertilizer planned at this point in time. Is this a mistake? It never seemed to hold me back in the 180. I used flourish and trace for a while, but noticed no discernable difference so I stopped using it to save money.

Java Moss do well if started with dry method on DW, if you buy Java Moss and try to wrap it on something then its seem to take quite a while to stick or stay on that surface underwater in aquarium.
**About Pothos suck up nutrition, I did tested on my own, I kept Pothos in my tank for 3 months then remove them for 3 months. All other plants growth a lot faster and look better without Pothos and of course those ugly algae too hehehe...I put Pothos back in to keep Nitrate at minimal and it does make my tank look better with here and there shade of light in my tank. :)

I'll definitely test it. I always kept my nitrates at around 10 in the 180 gallon. I never had to do anything. The pothos was extremely effective. My ferns were still growing and producing babies, although the swords did lose some leaves over a long period of time. What exactly is the dry method? Applying the moss to a dry piece of driftwood, letting it try out, then putting it back into the water?

Dry method: Not exactly dry :)
You have to chop java moss into tiny pieces and then use a brush to apply those tiny moss on anything you like then place it in an empty tank with some water and cover the top to built up the moisture within the tank, DIY your own mist machine or use the one use for reptile to create a foggy environment. This method will need at least 6 weeks for moss established and start growing on the surface...after that only thing can kill those mocs or take them off the item surface is boil them in hot water or dry them up in the sun light :p
*Aquascaper use this method to make underwater tree most of the time :)

Very cool. Thanks for the advice. I want to give this a shot, but I'm hesitant to attempt it with my large piece ofr driftwood. It took me almost 6 months to get that thing to sink, and a portion of it still wants to float <.>|

I am going to try to pick up more java ferns tomorrow after I get out of class. I had planned to tonight, but I got called in to work.

Oh, I forgot that you have to cover the tank top with plastic wrap (the one we use to wrap our left over food) and experiement with something small, easy to handle before do it for your master piece.

right on. I'll give it a shot with some small pieces this week. Thanks again.
