When I'm finished with the stand/canopy in a couple weeks, I'm going to do a full write up on this 300 gallon project. For now, here's some basic details on the tank and a couple preview shots.
Tank: 300g wide from Glasscages - 96" x 30" x 24", Starphire glass on front & sides
Filtration: 75g sump w/ 100 micron filter pad (25 micron also used occasionally), poret foam, eheim substrat pro - will also be adding Kaldnes K3 section and ceramic rings soon
Lighting: CurrentUSA TrueLumen LED strips (3 x 24") - may add more but I kinda like the dark look
Background is Aquaterra 'Rainforest', substrate is pool filter sand and manzanita from manzman. Also have an autochange water system dripping .5 gph for total of 25% weekly change. May up it to 1 gph if needed when the bioload increases.
Current stock is 1 adult petsmart Angel (yeah, I know) & 7 young 'wild' scalare from the LFS.
Future stock will be some Geo Red Head Tapajos currently in a grow out and eventually a hystrix.
Apologies for the crappy cell phone pics - will get better ones when the project is complete:
