30cm spotted gar with school of clown loaches

hey guys,

I've got a 5x2x2 tank stocked with 7x silver sharks 15cm, 20 cm oscar and 15 clown loaches ranging from 10cm to 20cm..... would i be able to put a 30cm spotted gar in there??? what about just in general, would they be able to go with loaches? or they will eat them?

i think that would be pushing it you already seem overstocked quite well :D
and you have an Oscar at nearly 8"+ which might get a little aggro with your gar and there might be chances that your gar may break its back if spooked by the O
and would love to see the pics of your CLs(so start posting pics please)

the gar he is planning to get is already 12"ish

There will be plenty of room in the tank as the Gar slowly kills off all the Silver sharks then trys to eat the 10cm Clown loach only to have the loach get stuck in it's throat so they both die....

In short bad idea.....

thanx guys... i thought it might be pushing it anyway.... got my 300g 8x2x2.5 waiting to be setup..... do u think i will be able to fit it in there along with the same fish.... or its purely an agression issue for the gar..... i saw the gar for sale for 350 Australian dollars and its pretty rare to see it on sale esp at that price... usually i see it for 650..... its just a hard thing to pass up but yet i don't have another tank to put that in just yet....
