I have a jewel cichlid 2inches inside a 30g tank 36 inches long, i wanted to know what kind of community fish can i put in the tank with him? tetras,danios,catfish, or maybe even cichlids? ideas? im looking for a really beautiful setup to surround this guy with.....i dont want a breeding pair...

a group of jewels is always an amazing site as they color up very well when you have a group of 'em
and you can always pack the tank, and destroy any spawns that occur

what do you mean? pack the tank? how do i sex jewels? i wouldnt mind having two of the same sex...i dont want spawing to happen cause i dont the other tank mates to be terrorized....im just looking for a small community of fish to surround my jewel around.....

and they were there in that tank for like nearly an year before i switched to other fish and gave away the whole group
