Here are 3, the 7" Coppernose Barb (Raiamas christyi) pic by G.Ott,
the 8" Lake Rukwa Minnow (R. moorii) pic by L.Seegars, and the 9" Silver Fish (R. senengalensis) pic by K.Mody. These are not viscious but are attractive small predators that are active feeders and act much like trout but are suitable for tropical tanks.
Another fish that comes to mind is actually from South Africa, again not viscious but a nice small predator that feeds much like an American bluegill, it is a bit territorial though so a male/female pair would be all that would go in a 30g.
