I have a 30gal sterilite container that i'm using for feeders, currently in fry form.
They're less than 1 cm, and i have a fresh batch of eggs on a rock.

Question is, anyone have an idea on how I might seperate the new-coming fry from the 3 week olds in this sterilite container?

I'm currently kicking around the ideas of custom cut eggcrate (because the bins have a narrowing design) wrapped in a fine silk screen.
My other idea was to take another smaller sterilite container, modify the brim to be held with clips along the brim of the bigger container. (essentally a container in container using the bigger one's support systems.)
I would have no idea where, what size, or shape holes i would cut into this for circulation.
Any ideas? My biggest problems are the fry getting through, and I don't want to use a breeding net because i feel the larger fry will attempt to suck the new fry through the net, turning the breeding net into a feeding net.

build a cage/box out of egg crate and wrap that in the mesh/screen.. then if they suck the fry through the net just make a second one slightly smaller and put it inside the bigger one so that theres a dead space..

The difficult part to doing this is the obscure shape of the sterilite container which narrows at the bottom.
I'll either have to compute complex mathematics to figure the angle, or use an empty duplicate container to experiment with. I can't leave any space for them to sneak through.

I'm also concerned with water flow. right now I have a hang on aquaclear 20 in the middle lightly aerating the 2 day old eggs. Tomorrow or the next I plan to have a canister going with an intake on one side and outake on the other side of the tank. (approx. 30 inches apart) Will this be an issue?

I definatley need a better breeding system here. I have a 20gal glass which the parents were meant to grow up and breed in, and this 30gal sterilite meant for the kids. Right now I got kids in both tanks and the parents inside a mini walmart breeder net inside the 30. I'm way off track.

EDIT-This brought up an idea. It would be much simpler to divide the 20gal glass. Only problem being I wanted the kids to grow up in the 30. I don't see 20gal being enough for the amount of feeders im planning.

What would be a good way to fix the netting to the eggcrate?
I'm looking for a quick method.
I wanna staple but something tells me that's a no-
I have aquarium silicone but i can't wait the 24 hours... I have to leave at 10pm tonight.

Would a satin tape work?
