30gal tank ( if i didnt replace my 12gal)

ok so i got to thinking about starting a 30gal reef for xmas
here is the price list of stuff i think i need to get anyone please add ontop of these if i need anything else

cascade 350gph =25$
powerheads

maxijet 1200=10$

theo 150w = 25$
protein skimmer (extra)
aquatic life internal mini protein skimmer 115= 50$

EQUIPMENT total = rougly 285$

livestock (basic lr and ls)
20lbs of lr =75$
15lbs or ls =15$
20lbs of base rock = 40$

livestock total= rougly 130$

grand total roughly=450$

loose the cascade filter and get a sump with a return pump and a better skimmer you'll thank yourself in the end.

dont realy want to have to deal with a sump


whould this stuff be able to do in the future ?

i didnt want a sump do to eels swimming up overflow and returns
