We set three of these up. I put one up in the living room and two in the basement with all my other tanks.
Thought these would make good pup tanks. Since I have several males amd female Motoro's that are just about ready to mate, we decided to get ready. These tanks were on sale thru Marineland in April, so I decided to get them now and save some cash. Im thinking now though, I may take one of the ones in the basement out, bring it up to the living room also and set it up for a saltwater reef/fish tank.
I decided to build our own stands to save even more money.
Here is one of the new set-up's step by step.
Built frame, this is not 100% complete. I added 2x4's in between the top frame and the bottom frame to add more support to the top frame since thats the part the tank sets on.
Then covered with paneling and trim.
Painted black, had to touch it up after these pics, saw my baby girl put her finger prints all over the door and on some parts of the stand when it was still tacky..
Got tanks in Friday, and since the stands are open on top, I painted all the bottoms of the tanks black
This one has a 30" fixture, T5 48w total. And threw in a LED bubble wand also to see how well they work and look.
