A 32,000 year old seed was successfully germinated. The extinct plant dubbed the 'Arctic Flower' set a record for being the oldest seed to be germinated. The previous record holder was the Judean Date Palm @ 2,000 years. The palm was also exctinct but is now over 6 feet tall and has given off numerous seeds. This is 2012 news. Brand New. Pretty cool.
