I have 2 34 watt screw-in cfl's the ones where the tubes curl back into the base.Their made to use in a lamp to save energy,but there so bright.The light is yellow,like a high pressure sodium,it penetrates my 90 gallon and is quite bright.Please tell me they have some usable spectrums in them! Thanks

There is a set of bulbs that is white, sold at walmart, and are made by GE, that says 6500K on the cover. These are the kind you need to use.
I'm gonna put some low light stuff in under the light perimiter cast by these CFL's,gonna get these bulbs you reccomend.If i can't get those,what do i need to look for in terms of product I.D. like K ratings? High? Low? 6500 like you said i guess,i noticed that the ones i have are to yellow for plnt growth,but there bright as all heck.Am i gonna loose wattage with these new bulbs?
The only way you'll lose wattage is if you buy a bulb with lower wattage. How many watts is the fixture you are putting them in rated for? Like Wyldfya said, if you can get bulbs rated at 6500K, that would be perfect. They are usually sold as "daylight" bulbs. Stay away from "cool white" and "warm white" labels as these generally both have kelvin ratings under 4000K and provide little of the spectrum plants need for photosynthesis. In general, try to get bulbs between 5500-6700K. If you can't find anything in that range, you should be able to at least find some "full spectrum" bulbs rated over 5000K and those should work for you.
Not only did i get TWO of those 6500k bulbs,but i bought a t-12 fixture at a steal which is gonna add another 80 watts of 6500k !!!
