I've measured my doorways, they're all 30" wide. How, if I so chose to do so in the future, would I get a 36" wide tank in the door?

Take out a window, it's really not that hard. The sliding part lifts up and the bottom slides out. The vertical center piece usually has one screw on top and one on bottom. Once the center piece is out the fixed piece comes out just like the sliding part.

What's the height? If it's 30" tall or less, then just turn the tank on it's side.

The tank isn't the problem usually, it's the stand you'll struggle with, as the new owner of my 180x75x60 tank found out. He measured the tank, measured the doors, figured he could get it in on its side, but forgot that the stand was 180x75x80!!

Best option is to build the tank and stand on-site if possible (and if you're not planning on moving any time soon!) or bring the tank in on it's side and build a lower stand that will also fit through the doorway.

If you cannot turn it on its side, other options include removing the door and door frame, getting it through a window opening if you have a window wide enough, moving to a house that has sliding doors or double doors to your fish room. Or you could do it the hard way and build your fish room around your tank.

What's the risk in that? Could it bow or anything like that?
